An Important Notice To Our Licensees About Updates

If you want to stay current with the most recent releases of our software, visit this site often and check the version numbers of the programs you've licensed.

For many years we sent e-mail notices to licensees when we upgraded the software they'd licensed or when we made bug fixes. Unfortunately, the increase in spam has made that practice impractical. If you let us know that you'd like to upgrade to the latest version of a program, we'll make sure you get the upgrade.

To install our standard upgrade Package

Unless we come out with a major change to a product that requires new dynamic link libraries, we issue upgrades to our software in a small package that includes just the executable files, a help file upgrade, and possibly a help file contents upgrade. To install the upgrade:

1. Back up any database files associated with the program. The upgrade installation process has been tested many, many times, but regular backups are cheap insurance.

2. Unzip the downloaded or e-mailed upgrade package to an empty folder.

3. Go to the folder where you've unzipped the package and double-click the file named "Setup.exe."

4. The upgrade installation screen will appear. Click "GO."

5. Setup will begin searching your hard drives for the location of the original executable file. When it finds it, Setup will display the path of the file and ask whether or not this is the correct location. If it is, click "Yes." If you have more than one file on your computer with this name and this is not the correct one, click "No" and Setup will continue its search.

6. When you've finished, clean up the directory where you extracted the upgrade files.

NOTE: If you're comfortable working at DOS level, or if you want to do the installation manually from your desktop, just copy the .exe,  and .chm (or .hlp, and .cnt) files to the correct location.
